We are currently gathering names for a new cricket honour board, intended to record Hutchins First XI captains and the winners of the Butler Awards for batting and bowling averages for each year since their inception in 1912.
On Friday 27 September 2019, 130 Hutchins boys and their fathers, grandfathers, uncles, and mentors gathered in Burbury House for the Prefects’ AFL Grand Final Breakfast.
At the Anniversary Lunch held in Burbury House on Friday 9 August 2019, the Hutchins School Old Boys’ Association unveiled the Hutchins Lion which is a posthumous award given to honour an Old Boy who has excelled in his chosen field of endeavour.
Nominations for the Young Alumni Award and Ivied Tower Award for 2019 are now open. These awards recognises Alumni who have made a significant achievement in their chosen field of endeavour – arts, sport, business or community service. The 2019 SB20 Tasmanian Championship wrapped up with a really successful regatta for both Hutchins School crews on the Murray Jones and the Warwick Dean, finishing one point apart in 9th and 10th respectively in the overall fleet and 1st and 2nd in the youth category.
The Headmaster Dr Rob McEwan, Chaplain Rev Dr Lee Weissel and the Director of Advancement and Alumni Engagement, Mr John Groom (’86) attended this year’s Hutchins Old Boys’ Lodge Commencement Lunch at Burbury House on Wednesday 6 February.

Today the Hutchins School Old Boys’ Association hosted the annual Ray Vincent lunch in Burbury House, welcoming 70 Old Boys and special guests.
Yesterday students from Years 3 to 10 gathered in honour of Remembrance Day. Students reflected on the sacrifices made by those who fought for our freedom and paid their respects to The Hutchins School Old Boys who gave their lives in World War I.
